Text Editor - I use EditPad Pro but you may think $50 is a little steep so ...
... you may want to check out Programmer's NotePad as it has regular and portable versions.
Image editor - IrfanView is free and quite good.
Paint.Net is a free graphics program that packs a punch!

USB Memory - put your name on it!

What do I expect?
  • You will come to class each week.
  • You will let me know in advance if you'll miss a class.
  • You will try to stay up to date with the schedule as seen in the syllabus.
  • You will ask questions when you're stumped.
  • You will arrange to meet with me if you're really lost.
  • You will turn in assignments on time.
What can you expect of me?
  • I will be on time for each class session.
  • I will share information with you about any changes in the schedule.
  • I will try my best to avoid confusion in complex topics.
  • I will maintain office hours to meet with you.
  • I will return assignments in a timely manner.
Assignments:

All assignments can be found at the assignments page. As we work through the tutorials in the text I will put completion dates on that page.

You must turn in your assignments no later than those dates. Grade penalties will be assessed for late assignments.

You must post your assignments to your own Web site. If you do not have a site already, one can be assigned to you by your instructor.

Once all parts of an assignment are completed, you must send an email to your instructor with links to all parts of the assignment. Part of the assignment for Tutorial 2 will be to create a menu as your main page linking to all parts of all assignments.

You are encouraged to collaborate with others in the class but copying is not acceptable.
